A disturbing case of stalking has come to light in South Korea, involving a Brazilian woman who repeatedly visited the home of BTS's Jungkook on multiple occasions. The woman, who was tried for violating South Korea's anti-stalking law and trespassing, was handed down a suspended sentence by Presiding Judge Park Ji Won of the Seoul Western District Court.
The incident unfolded in December last year, when the woman visited Jungkook's residence 22 times, ringing his doorbell, loitering near the property, and leaving items outside his home. She was subsequently issued an emergency restraining order prohibiting her from approaching within 100 meters of Jungkook or his residence.

However, she violated the restraining order anyway, returning to Jungkook's home in January and leaving photographs and printed materials outside his door. Investigators revealed that she had waited near a side entrance after spotting a food delivery worker enter, then slipped inside herself once the worker came back out.
The court opted against immediate imprisonment, citing the woman's motivation to 'express feelings' rather than 'intend harm' as a factor in sentencing. The judge also noted that the roughly three months she had already spent in detention were sufficient to reduce her sentence.
Despite the leniency of the sentence, many fans are left furious and concerned for Jungkook's safety. The court's decision has sparked debate about the efficacy of South Korea's anti-stalking laws and the need for stricter penalties for repeat offenders.
